In this episode of Good Reads we will begin to cover the Left Bundle Branch Block (LBBB) – starting with the basics of conduction anatomy. We'll review the path of impulses from the SA node to the AV node, through the bundle of His, and how it splits into the right and left bundles. Specifically, we’ll focus on the left bundle’s two fascicles: the left anterior fascicle and the left posterior fascicle. This episode will cover how to identify LBBB on a 12-lead EKG, highlighting key criteria: A wide QRS complex (Greater Than 120 ms) A deep S wave in V1 A prominent R wave in V6 We also cover why there’s often notching in these waves, as the block location may vary.
